VMS boys compete in dual meet April 24 in Yankton The seventh- and eighth-grade middle school dual track meet involving Vermillion and Yankton was held in Yankton on Monday, April 24.
No team scores were reported.
Placers for the seventh-grade boys were:
Shot put � Daniel Mollet, third.
110m hurdles � Kyle Hubert, third.
100m dash � Quincy Christie first, 11.29; 200m dash � Randy Kabambi second; 400m dash � Christie, first, 56.1; 800m run � Ben Rogge third.
The medley relay team placed first in 2:02 minutes, with members Hubert, Pier, Christie and Kabambi. The 4x400m relay was third (Andrew Pier, Rogge, Danny Redlin and Michael Preszler).
VMS eighth-grade placers were:
Shot put � Jordan Anderson first, 40'4"; discus � Anderson second; long jump, Kyle Mollet second.
The 110m hurdles event was won by Ben Oberle in 18.56 seconds, and Chris Teigen placed second.
In the dashes: 100m � Sean Pederson second, Mollet third; 200m � Jason Donald third.
In the distance runs the results were: 800m � Ben Preszler first, 2:34; 1600m � Jon Miller first, 5:58.
The 4x100m relay team came in second (Anderson, Pederson, Oberle and Mollet), as did the 4x200m relay team (Ryan Mockler, Chris Teigen, Pederson and Mollet). The 4x400m team came in third (Chris Teigen, Matt Preszler, Mockler and Oberle).
