VMS boys' track team victors in triangular The Vermillion Middle School Triangular, involving Beresford, Vermillion and Lennox, was conducted last Tuesday, May 1 and found the seventh-grade Redbirds placing in 10 events.
Total team points in their division were: Vermillion � 48; Lennox � 36; Beresford � 6.
Placers for the seventh-grade boys were:
Field events: Shot put � Daniel Mollet, first, 32'4"; long jump � Quincy Christie, first,19'5.5", Randy Kabambi, second.
Dashes: 100M � Christie, first, 11.6, Kabambi, second; 200M � Kabambi, first, 28.5, Kyle Hubert, second; 400M � Christie, first, 55.5, Ben Rogge, third; 110 hurdles � Hubert, first, 20.5, Michael Preszler, second, and Glen Foltz, fourth.
Long distance runs: 800M � Danny Redlin, second, Preszler, third, Rogge, fourth; 1600M run � Sage Koch, third.
The 4×400 relay team placed second � John Gregg, Redlin, Preszler, and Rogge. First place was awarded to the medley team, Hubert, Rogge, Christie, and Kabambi, run in 1:56.0.
The eighth-grade Redbirds placed first in eight events and had placers in 10 out of 14 events. Total team results were: Vermillion � 63; Beresford � 38; Lennox � 36.

Long distance races: 800M run � Jon Miller, first, 2:30.3; 1600M run � Chad Teigen, first, 5:25.0, JJ LaMie, third.
The 4x100M relay team placed first (52.9) with members Anderson, Oberle, Pederson and Mollet.
