Gas prices on downward trend

Gas prices on downward trend AAA's monthly fuel gauge survey, taken June 12, shows the statewide average price of gasoline in South Dakota has decreased slightly to $1.785 per gallon.

This is down .044 cents from last month's survey, when the statewide average was at $1.829.

Nationwide, the average price of gasoline is at $1.661 per gallon, which is nearly six cents lower than a month ago.

The highest state-wide average cost of regular unleaded gasoline is $1.994 in California, while the state with the lowest state-wide average is Georgia, at $1.461.
