Stockland will compete in Miss Teen pageant Jeanie Stockland, daughter of Frank and Robin Stockland of Volin, will be among the candidates competing for the title of Miss Teen of South Dakota at the 2001 State Pageant, which will be held at the Ramkota Inn in Watertown June 22-24.
Stockland will be a freshman at Wakonda Public School this fall and was nominated due to her scholastic record, school achievement and community service.
The winner of the pageant competition will receive a $1,000 cash scholarship, a $500 educational savings bond and $250 to present to her school on behalf of the Miss Teen of America Scholarship and Recognition Program. The new state titleholder will also be eligible to compete for the National Title of Miss Teen of America and vie for additional scholarships, prizes and awards.
The State Pageant finals will be held at 4 p.m. on Sunday, June 24, in the Grand Ballroom of the Ramkota Inn. The event is open to the general public, and tickets will be available for purchase at the door.
