Vermillion youth enter second KELO tourney A contingent of Vermillion youngsters traveled to Mitchell on Tuesday, June 12 for the second stop of the KELO-Land Tour played at the Lakeview Golf Course.
For some of them, this was their first competition of the summer golf season. Not every one earned a "top three" place in the tourney but their scores were respectable and each of them made it a learning experience.
Allison Stewart won her second straight KELO tournament of this year with a score of 80 in the 16-17 age bracket.
Karrie Plate, competing in the same bracket, scored a 93.
The boy's Vermillion participants had Rob Schaack scoring 82 in the under 18 section; Nathan Boots and Brad Schaack were entered in the 14-15 age division and scored 88 and 89 in that order; while Alex Schaack placed second in the 11 and under bracket, scoring 50 on a short course.
