Lennox Legion splits with Post #1 in doubleheader The Vermillion Legion Post #1 baseball team had a return doubleheader against Lennox, and split the resulting games in two exciting finishes played Thursday, June 28 in Prentis Park.
Drew Lawrence started and pitched the complete first game, giving up eight runs on nine hits while registering 12 strike outs and walking three. He was charged with four earned runs, and the loss.
The offense was led by Pat Brooks who went two for four hits, scored two runs, and drove in two. Tyler Vacek was two for four and scored one run. Tim Brodersen was two for four with one RBI. Brett Mockler was one for three and had two RBI. Adam Brooks and BJ Campbell scored one run each.
Line scores: Lennox � 8 runs, 9 hits, 1 error, 10 LOB; Vermillion � 5 runs, 9 hits, 5 errors, 5 LOB.
Game #2 was a comedy of errors as Lennox committed 12 of them and Vermillion turned the tables when they were charged with only one.
Dan Holoch gave up 10 runs on eight hits, walking seven batters, registering seven strikeouts and was credited for the win.

Pat Brooks was two for five and scored twice. Vacek went two for five with two runs scored. Brodersen and Mockler both scored twice on one for five batting.
Single runs came from Adam Brooks, Jeff Gilbertson and Ryan Nelson (who scored the winning run, in the bottom of the last inning when Lennox committed their 12th error).
The season record becomes 13 wins, 7 losses.
