Madsen honored for excellent service Jennifer Madsen, primary community supports instructor at SESDAC, Inc. received the Excellence in Service Award at the annual state conference held June 7 and 8, at Palmer Gulch Resort in the Black Hills.
The state conference "Simply the Best" recognizes excellence in employees working directly with people with developmental disabilities.
Each area adjustment training center may nominate one employee for the award. The criteria for the award is: being employed in the field of developmental disabilities for at least one year; having demonstrated an outstanding record, above and beyond minimum job requirements to contribute to the overall quality of life for individuals served; having gained the respect of both the individuals served and co-workers; and having been selected by their agency as deserving of this award. Three supporting letters may accompany the nomination.
Madsen was nominated from SESDAC, Inc. Some of supporting statements include: "Jen is more than a member of client teams, she is a friend, advocate and job coach." "She cares about the clients and listens to what each person has to say." "She is a strong advocate for the clients and has everyone's best interests at heart." "She assists clients at their jobs, at home and in the community and uses her connections to enhance the client's quality of life." Madsen is the first SESDAC, Inc. employee to receive this prestigious statewide award for working with people with developmental disabilities.
