USD children's center receives $99,780 grant Senators Tom Daschle and Tim Johnson announced July 25 that the Vucurevich Children's Center at The University of South Dakota has been awarded $99,780 in federal funding.
Daschle and Johnson said the Housing and Urban Development (HUD) grant will be used for the development of playground equipment at the Vucurevich Children's Center.
"This funding will help provide area children with improved recreational facilities and a fun, active and safe environment," Daschle said.
"Outdoor activity is an important part of childhood development," Johnson said. "This facility will provide a safe social environment for children of USD faculty and students."
The funding was awarded through the HUD Economic Development Initiative Special Project Grant.
