Veterans can ride to Pierre for dedication Vermillion veterans and their wives have a chance to attend the World War II Veterans Memorial dedication in Pierre on Saturday, Sept. 15, courtesy of SESDAC, Inc., which has donated a bus and the services of a driver.
Fourteen people can go on the bus ride to Pierre, according to Darrel Christopherson, commander of VFW Post 3061 in Vermillion.
The bus will leave Vermillion at 4 a.m. on Sept. 15, travel to Pierre for the ceremony, and return the same day.
To reserve a seat (on a first-come, first-served basis), veterans can call Christopherson at 624-2258. He asks that reservations be made by July 30. The ride is free.
