Clark participates in legislative conference Rep. Judy Clark has been meeting with fellow midwestern lawmakers in a four-day session designed to provide information and foster discussions on issues of critical importance to the region.
Clark was appointed by the Speaker of the SD House to the Council of State Governments Annual Meeting Committee, which selects the annual conference meeting sites.
As a participant in the 56th annual meeting of the Midwestern Legislative Conference, Clark also exchanged ideas and participate in public policy sessions on the future of state legislatures, population changes in the midwest, legislative challenges related to health care and the aging population, the future of higher education, and issues about this region's energy needs and potential.
The meeting was held July 29-Aug. 1 in Lincoln, NE.
State legislators from Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota and Wisconsin � along with members of the Canadian province of Saskatchewan Legislative Assembly � comprise the Midwestern Legislative Conference, which is staffed by the Midwestern Office of The Council of State Governments (CSG).
CSG is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization that assists and advances state government by providing research assistance, professional development opportunities, interstate consulting services and suggested state legislation.
