Obituaries Shirley Anglin
Shirley A. Anglin, 68, Vermillion, died Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2001, at Sioux Valley Vermillion Care Center after a long illness with cancer.
Shirley Peters was born on Oct. 24, 1933 in Platte, to John and Mae (Jacobs) Peters. She graduated from Platte High School and married Leonard Anglin on Nov. 5, 1952 in Vermillion. She retired in 1998 as the assistant manager of the Freedom Value Center in Vermillion.
Survivors include her husband Leonard, Vermillion; a daughter, Wanda (Joe) Johnson, Vermillion; three sons, Michael (Tammy), and Joel (Liz), Vermillion, and Paul (Pamela), Burbank; four sisters, Phyllis Schanandore, Yankton, Rosemary Doohen, Sioux City, IA, Bonnie Weber, Mitchell, and Francis Boysen, Duluth, MN; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 29, at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Vermillion. A private family burial will be at a later date in the Robey Cemetery in White Lake.
Hansen Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements in Vermillion.
Harry Frazee, 78, of North Sioux City, died Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2001, in North Sioux City following a lengthy illness.
Services were held Sept.
22 at Christy-Smith Berkemier Chapel in Sioux City, IA, with the Rev. Sandy Aakre of First Baptist Church in Vermillion officiating.
Mr. Frazee was born Aug. 24, 1923, in Sioux City, the son of Herman Edgar and Eva Elizabeth (Brinkerhoff) Frazee. He was a longtime North Sioux City resident. He attended school in McCook Lake. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II from 1942 to 1946.
He married Ida Hogan on Nov. 14, 1942, in Dakota City, NE. He was employed with Armour and Co. for 20 years. He was also a local truck driver in the Sioux City area and was employed with Sodrac Park and Park Jefferson. He also worked on the river.
He was of the Baptist faith and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing cards.
Survivors include his wife, Ida; two sons, Harry Jr. and his special friend, Mary of Waterloo, IA, and Danny and his wife, Pat, of Vermillion; four daughters, Nancy and her husband, Gail Habinck, of Waterloo, Sandy and her husband, Bill Hilsinger, of North Sioux City, Teresa and her husband, Dave Speichinger, of Sergeant Bluff, IA, and Gail Banks of Davenport, IA; 18 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; five brothers; and six sisters.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Keith and Terry; a grandson, Kenneth Wayne Krana; and four brothers.
