Vermillion hospital begins respiratory care department A respiratory care department has been established at the Sioux Valley Vermillion Hospital, with Lori Salonen, RT, as director of respiratory care.
"Lori is a respiratory therapist with 25 years of experience," said John Paulson, CEO. "She will develop a pulmonary rehabilitation program, asthma education and other respiratory care services at Sioux Valley Vermillion Medical Center."
"Establishing the respiratory care department and adding Lori Salonen to the hospital staff will help enhance the care and services we can offer our patients," said Dr. William Dendinger, chief of the medical staff. "Vermillion's physicians are glad to see this new service developed as it will expand the respiratory care services that we can offer.
"By having someone with Lori's experience and expertise available to help develop services and provide staff and community education and health promotion programs, our local health care capabilities will be even stronger," Dendinger added.
Pulmonary function screenings will be offered at the upcoming Sioux Valley Vermillion Medical Center Dakota Hospital Association and Foundation Community Ice Cream Social on Tuesday, Sept. 25.
