VHS marching band will travel to Chamberlain The Vermillion High School band will join over 1400 instrument-wielding high school and middle school students on the banks of the Missouri River in Chamberlain-Oacoma for the second annual River City Band Festival on Saturday, Oct. 6.
The growing event will host 15 high school and middle school marching bands. Bands will perform in the street compe-
tition, starting at 10 a.m. along Chamberlain's Main Street. A field competition follows at 1 p.m. on the Don Giese Field at Chamberlain High School.
The street competition begins at the Avenue of Flags, streams through downtown Chamberlain and will end at Barger Park. Participating bands from throughout South Dakota and Minnesota will march in the parade and, later, in the field competition. A team from Alexandria, MN, will judge the competitions.
