Concert salutes 'Greatest Generation' Free tickets are now available from America's Shrine to Music Museum in Vermillion for a concert by The United States Air Force Band & Singing Sergeants. Sponsored by the museum, the concert will be held on Sunday, Oct. 14, at 7 p.m. in Slagle Auditorium on the campus of The University of South Dakota. The salute to "The Greatest Generation" will include a wide variety of American music, ranging from Sousa marches, Woodie Guthrie's This Land is Your Land, and show tunes by George Cohan, to Hymn to the Fallen by John Williams and Irving Berlin's God Bless America. The concert will conclude with Carmen Dragon's powerful arrangement of America the Beautiful. Based in Washington, DC, the U.S. Air Force Band & Singing Sergeants is one of America's great musical institutions. The concert is free, but by ticket only. Tickets are now available (limit of four tickets per request) by sending a stamped, self-addressed envelope and the number of tickets needed to the Shrine to Music Museum, 414 E. Clark Street, Vermillion, SD 57069. Tickets can also be picked up at the museum in Vermillion. The free tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
