Heaton to present program featuring Grand Canyon Dr. Timothy H. Heaton, professor in the Earth Sciences Department at The University of South Dakota, will show slides of his trip through the Grand Canyon National Park in Arizona.
Heaton went on a seven-day geology field trip by raft for 240 river miles through the Grand Canyon in April 2001. He has also made backpacking trips to many parts of the canyon.
The program will be held Sunday, Oct. 21 at 3 p.m. at Dalesburg Lutheran Church. It is sponsored by the Dalesburg Area Homemakers and is open to the public.
This trip was sponsored by Brigham Young University and was supported by the University of South Dakota Faculty Development Program.
