Letter United Way expresses thanks

To the editor:

The members of the United Way of Vermillion Board of Directors would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to all of the individuals and Vermillion businesses who helped make the United Way 2002 Campaign Kick Off Event, "Taste of Vermillion," such a success.

Thank you to Fire Chief Doug Brunick and EMT Don Forseth for all their help both before and after the evening's festivities, to Kathy Chandler of the USD Foundation for personally seeing to the delivery of the tables, and to the Foundation for the loan of the tables. Thank you also to Todd Brevik of USD Facilities Management for the delivery and use of the extra tables and chairs. Thank you to the David Olson Trio for the evening's music and to Candy Holbrook for the table decorations. Thank you to the City of Vermillion for allowing us to host the "taste" in the new fire/EMS station. It was the ideal setting.

Finally, thank you to the Vermillion area restaurants which provided the food for the dining pleasure of the more than 300 people who attended the event. Thank you to Burger King, Char Bar, Cherry Street Grille, Coffee Shop Gallery, Dairy Queen, Domino's, Hy-Vee Deli and Bakery, King Sea, Leo's, Little King, Main Street Pub, Marj's Place, Pump 'n Pak, Recuerdo's, R-Pizza, Silver Dollar, Subway, Taco John's, Toby's, USD Campus Dining, Whimp's, the Hart Beverage Company, and last but not least, United Way board member, Jon Robertson, who coordinated all of the food and beverage arrangements.

Thank you to all who attended the "Taste of Vermillion" in support of your local United Way and its 21 2002 member agencies.
