Quad State Marching Competition is Oct. 20 The annual University of South Dakota Quad State Field Marching Competition will be held on Saturday, Oct. 20, from 10 a.m. through 4 p.m.
High school bands from the Quad State area will compete for first, second, or third place trophies in four different competition classes.
A grand Sweepstakes Winner will be chosen from all of the competing bands. The adjudication panel for the competition will consist of Rhonda and Todd Blazer from Alexandria, MN; Suzi and Paul Gausman for Sioux Falls; Dennis McDermott from Aberdeen; and Dr. Bruce Ammann from Augustana College in Sioux Falls.
Competing bands in Class A include Elkhorn Valley, NE, Scotland High School, and Woodbury Central High School from Moville, IA.
Class 2A bands include Lennox High School, Vermillion High School, Pipestone-Jasper, MN, and Madison High School.
Class 3A bands include Huron High School, Brandon Valley High School, and Marshall High School from Marshall, MN.
Class 4A bands include Yankton High School and Washington, Lincoln, and Roosevelt High Schools from Sioux Falls.
Marching band fans and the general public are invited to attend the last marching competition of the 2001 season in the comfort of the DakotaDome.
