Schempp and Nelson named September Students of Month Dustin Schempp and Mary Nelson were selected as the First National Bank Students of the Month for September. Schempp and Nelson are Vermillion High School seniors and they will receive $100 scholarships for their future education. Schempp was noted as "a super student in the classroom" by his faculty endorsement. "Dustin is always respectful and courteous." He is a member of the National Honor Society, the Student Council and Natural Helpers. He participated in band as well as the Trinity Lutheran Youth Group. He also has three part-time jobs. Schempp's parents are Scott and Glenda Schempp. His college selection has yet to be determined. Nelson is involved in Drama Club, band, oral interp, swing choir, dance team, jazz choir and choir. Additionally she is involved with the Coast Guard Auxiliary and the UCC Senior High Youth Group. "Mary is a leader among her peers in the classroom and during extra curriculars," related her endorsement. Her parents are Glenn and Anita Nelson. She is currently employed at Dairy Queen and her college selection has also not been determined.
