McDonald’s donates journals to library at University of SD

McDonald's donates journals to library at University of SD Manager Greg Paquette and McDonald's restaurant, Vermillion's newest business, have made a three-year commitment to The University of South Dakota Library to purchase popular journals for student recreational reading.

The titles to be selected will be recommended by students. The library encourages students to submit title orders to Joe Edelen at jedelen@usd.edu or 677-6082.

The deadline for submitting title recommendations is Nov. 15. Many publications should begin to arrive before Christmas and will be displayed on the first floor, west side, in the vicinity of the new books display.

"We are very pleased that McDonald's has agreed to purchase these materials for our students," said David Hulkonen, director of USD Libraries. "USD does not have the financial resources to buy popular magazines that students may enjoy reading. We are pleased that McDonald's is making this donation to help fill a gap in our library resources."
