Symphony will perform professor's work The National Symphony in Washington, DC has announced that it will open its Dec. 14 and 15 Christmas concerts with Dr. Stephen Yarbrough's Alleluias for Orchestra.
Dr. Henry Charles Smith, former conductor of the South Dakota Symphony, will conduct Yarbrough's work in a concert of Christmas favorites.
The concerts will be held in Washington DC's Kennedy Center.
Yarbrough is currently composer in residence at The University of South Dakota. His Alleluias for Orchestra was commissioned by Henry Charles Smith for a 1999 holiday concert with the South Dakota Symphony.
