Vermillion singer named to Yankton Children's Choir The board of directors and staff of this year's edition of the Yankton Children's Choir (YCC) are pleased to announce there is a Vermillion resident among the 40 singers already rehearsing for upcoming holiday performances, including the annual Christmas concert on Sunday, Dec. 9, at the Summit Center Theatre in Yankton.
The singers, ages 7 through 14 and representing seven area communities, are divided into a Preparatory Choir and Concert Choir. Choral director is Lea Ann Schramm; Margaret Lyons is associate choral director, and JoAnne Hamilton, Hartington, assistant choral director.
This year's YCC Concert Choir includes Benjamin Rogge, son of Tom and Michelle Rogge Gannon, and an eighth-grader at Vermillion Middle School.
The 2001-2002 season will feature multiple performances by both choirs, including the Festival of Trees at the United Church of Christ, Yankton, and participation in the Memorial Day Program on May 27.
