December students of month selected Audrey Foltz and Andrew Knutson were selected as the Vermillion High School Students of the Month for December. This award is sponsored by First National Bank for the recipients' special efforts during their academic and extra-curricular careers. They will receive a $100 scholarship for this selection.
Foltz was noted by her faculty endorsement as "always" a pleasant student. She comes to class prepared and always with a smile." She has been a participant in band, choir, and Spanish Club. Additionally she was involved in two school musicals and she sang at Carnegie Hall in New York City with the high school choral group.
Her parents are Rachel Foltz and Richard Foltz. She has not presently determined a college or a major for her future education.
Knutson is the student council president and National Honor Society vice president. He has also been involved with the Spanish Club, DARE, Youth Congress and football. His parents are Richard and Virginia Knutson.
According to his faculty recommendation, "Andrew is a responsible, conscientious, and dependable young adult, who strives for excellence in all his curricular and non curricular activities." He also has not selected a college, but his aspirations may lead him toward medical school or political science.
