A survey of traffic on the new bridge over the Missouri River reveals some surprising data. Vermillion City Manager Jeff Pederson noted that, on average, 907 vehicles crossed the bridge each day in November and December. "There were considerably more vehicles across the bridge in November than there were in December, but that can be attributed to people driving down to take a look at it shortly after it was opened," he said. City Engineer Bill Welk said the data is based on traffic counts made during a one week period in each of those two months.
