University will host one-act play festival The University of South Dakota Department of Theatre will host the South Dakota State High Association Activities Association One-Act Play Festival Jan. 31 through Feb. 2 in the Wayne S. Knutson Theatre of the Warren M. Lee Center for the Fine Arts. Performances are free and open to the public.
Approximately 500 students from 60 schools representing classes AA, A and B who have advanced through district and regional competitions will present their one-act plays and compete for individual and ensemble awards.
Performances begin early Thursday afternoon, Jan. 31 and continue through the evening and all day Friday and Saturday. There is a new performance approximately every 45 minutes. The festival concludes with an award ceremony late in the afternoon on Feb. 2.
