VHS gymnasts lose to Madison in dual by Jim Prosser The Tanager gymnasts had a team point total 115.7 in the dual meet held at the VHS gym on Tuesday, Jan. 8, facing the seven year State ?A� champion Madison Lady Bulldogs. The visitors scored 134.4 to claim another victory.

�We scored 115+ pts and I was very pleased with that score,� said Coach Mark Upward. �We need to regroup on beam but I�m still excited about our season and where we can be at, team wise, when February gets here.�

In the JV section, Kaili Johnson had the best Tanager vault score (5.9) and placed fourth in all around. Megan Epping had the best Tanager JV score on floor (5.6) and placed third in all around.

Nearly a dozen young Vermillion gymnasts had a chance to compete in the JV division with Theresa Ring and Amanda Haukaas showing the best home team score on uneven bars. Haukaas also led the Tanager JV scorers with a 4.45 on the beam.
