FSA Notes by Keith Zanter Reminder, harvest is over for CCC-709 field direct LDP's. Before hauling grain to the warehouse or delivery point, you will need to request an LDP on form CC-633. The final date to request a 2001 crop loan or LDP is:
* March 31 for wheat and small grain.
* May 31 for corn, soybeans and grain sorghum.
No 110 Percent Overrun Rule for 2001
Producers who certify their LDP or loan quantity will not be eligible for additional payments or Market Gains when production evidence exceeds the original quantity. A new LDP or loan must be requested prior to loss of beneficial interest before the final LDP/Loan availability dates.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture announced on Jan. 11 that it is not planning to offer a general CRP signup in fiscal year 2002. However, producers may continue to enroll relatively small, highly desirable acreage, such as filter strips and riparian buffers, in the continuous CRP at any time at their local FSA office. Participants with contracts expiring on Sept. 30 have from Jan. 14 to May 31 to apply for the one-year extension.
