Man's body discovered at interstate rest stop by David Lias Authorities don't believe foul play is involved in the death of a man who was discovered at the rest stop located near the Vermillion junction of Interstate 90.
A traveler discovered the man inside his vehicle at the rest stop at approximately 9:40 a.m. Monday, said Union County Sheriff Dan Limoges.
"At this point, we believe we know who we are dealing with, but we are waiting for a positive identification," Limoges said Tuesday afternoon. "That's why I'm not able to give you a name at this point."
Limoges said his office has been in touch with potential family members of the man, who was in his early 50s.
Authorities haven't yet determined a cause of death, and that could take same time, the sheriff said.
"We're waiting for all of the test results to come back. I don't believe we're looking at foul play, but we are following through with some steps to be able to rule that out completely."
The body has been transported to Sioux Falls to be examined by pathologist Brad Randall.
