Quilt class offered at Extension office Quilters can make the Morning Star quilt at the Clay County Extension office Feb. 23. This traditional design features rotary cutter techniques and machine piecing. An instruction book written by quilt teacher Mary Waller accompanies the class.
A free information session to view sample quilts and learn more is Wednesday, Feb. 7 at 7 p.m. in the kitchen at the Clay County Extension office. Students may register for the class at the information session or by mail. Pre-registration for the information session is encouraged.
The Morning Star quilt features a unique way to construct the stars in this design and is a great quilt for large-scale print fabrics. This simple design is easy to construct and perfect for the beginning quilters. Instructions include seven sizes.
The class runs from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Students provide fabric, sewing machine and basic sewing supplies and select the size quilt they wish to make. The $45 fee includes lunch and instruction book.
