USD will host literary poet festival on Feb. 21 The Vermillion Literary Project Poetry Festival will be held Feb. 21. The festival is sponsored by the Vermillion Literary Project and The University of South Dakota English Department and is held in collaboration with the John R. Milton Writers Conference.
The festival will feature workshops, readings by professional writers, and an open microphone event for the community at the Coffee Shop Gallery in Vermillion. Workshops are $20 for the general public and the entry deadline is Feb. 15.

The Vermillion Literacy Project is a USD student literary organization that publishes an annual literary magazine and hosts poetry readings and other
events for the USD community and the general public.
The festival's schedule is:
* 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. � Poetry workshop with poet David Allan Evans at the Center for Continuing Education, room 121, USD campus.
* 12:30 p.m. � A reading by writers Allison Joseph and Diane Glancy at the Coyote Student Center, USD campus.
* 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. � Poetry workshop with poet Allison Joseph at the Center for Continuing Education, room 121, USD campus.
* 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. � Community open microphone reading at the Coffee Shop Gallery at 24 W. Main St., downtown Vermillion.
