Vermillion volleyball parents' night update by Jim Prosser When the Vermillion varsity volleyball team defeated Bon Homme 15-12, 15-5 on Parents� Night Jan. 24 in the high school gym, the final statistics were unavailable for last weeks� report. Here is a reprise of the �A� team�s performance.
The Tanagers were led by Ashley Bjorkman who had 10 kills, 1 block, 1 ace and 10 digs with 2.5 PE; Karen Sorensen scored 2.4 PE, 6 K, 2 aces and 6 D; Tessa Tuetken scored 2.2 PE, 2 blocks,1 assist, 3K and 6D; Whitney Tolsma was credited with a 3 PE, 4 K and 9 D; Allison Stewart � 2.2 PE, 1 kill, 3 aces and 10 digs; Meggie Donnelly again led the setters with 24 assists. She also contributed a kill and 5 digs. Dru Vankley had 2 blocks, 1 kill, and 2 digs; Brittnany Sand scored a 3 PE and 3 digs; and Morgan Hollingsworth had a block and 2 kills.
�For the first time all season, the girls took the court with total confidence,� coach Billberg said. �They did all the things I asked and really made an effort to get outside their comfort zone and challenge themselves. This match was a great builder for future competition.�
With the win, the team had a current season record of 16 wins, 10 losses and 1 tie.
