Clay-Union Electric holds Member Appreciation Day Clay-Union Electric held its 12th Annual Member Appreciation Day on Feb. 7, with a crowd of over 600 people attending.
The event featured a free pancake and sausage breakfast, served from 7 a.m. until 1 p.m. Held as a way of showing the co-ops appreciation to the community it serves, the event continues to grow in attendance.
Initially starting as a simple open house event, Appreciation Day has grown to include not only the breakfast, but also features a mini home show with over twenty local exhibitors displaying their wares.
"It's a great way to visit with our customers on a relaxed basis," said Bill Kennedy, member services and marketing director. "We appreciate the fact that we get a crowd that includes folks that are not our customers. As a Touchstone Energy Cooperative, community involvement is very important to us, and we really enjoy seeing everyone attend."
Plans are already underway for next year's event, and the goal is to increase the overall attendance. Interested parties are invited to contact Clay-Union Electric regarding next year's event.
