Huskies held to only 5 field goals by Jim Prosser The Vermillion Tanagers rolled over the Elk Point-Jefferson Huskies 38-11 in freshman boys� basketball Feb. 12 at Elk Point in a game where the Tanagers held the Huskies to only 5 field goals.

�We played an excellent all around game,� said Vermillion freshmen Coach Mark Iverson. �Everybody came ready to play. The scoring was evenly distributed and rebounding displayed equal contribution by the front liners.�

The Tanagers committed only six turnovers in the victory.

The Tanagers jumped in front 13-2 after the first quarter, went into the locker room up 17-4 at halftime, and then led 25-6 after the third period.

The Vermillion freshmen improved their season mark to 7-4, while Elk Point-Jefferson fell to 2-8.

The Vermillion freshmen sank 4 of 7 three-point tries and connected on 2 of 3 free throw attempts. The Tanagers sank 16 of 40 field goal attempts, while Elk Point-Jefferson was 5 of 25 from the field. Elk Point-Jefferson sank 0 of 4 three-pointers and sank 1 of 5 free throw attempts.
