Madison leashed by Tanagers 51-30 by Jim Prosser The Vermillion Tanagers shot down the Madison Bulldogs 51-30 in JV boys� basketball Feb. 15 at home. The Tanagers shot 55 percent from the field in the contest.

Adam Brunick scored 18 points and grabbed eight rebounds.

The Tanagers took the lead 17-10 after the first quarter, and margins of 13-8 and 13-4 in the second and third quarters boosted the lead to 43-22 going into the final period.

The Tanagers heated things up from three-point range, hitting 4 of 8 from long distance.

�It was nice to see eight kids get into the scoring column and we finally got a total four quarters of basketball played,� said Vermillion JV Coach Rex Huska. �We didn�t have any mental let downs against a good Madison club.�

The Vermillion JV improved its record to 11-4, while Madison dropped to 12-5.

The Vermillion JV sank 3 of 8 free throw attempts. The Tanagers connected on 22 of 40 field goal attempts, while Madison was 14 of 46 from the field. The Bulldogs made 0 of 3 free throw attempts.
