Parkston routed by VHS JV by Jim Prosser The Vermillion Tanagers routed the Parkston Trojans 55-20 in junior varsity boys� basketball Feb. 19 at Parkston. The Tanagers shot 56 percent from the field in the contest.

The Tanagers committed only 7 turnovers while forcing 18.

The Tanagers heated things up from three-point range, hitting 4 of 8 from long distance.

The Tanagers jumped ahead 15-4 after the opening period, led 25-14 after the second quarter, and then held a lead of 40-16 going into the fourth quarter.

The Vermillion JV improved its season mark to 12-4, while Parkston fell to 2-16.

The Vermillion JV made 11 of 18 free throw attempts. The Tanagers connected on 20 of 36 field goals, while Parkston was 8 of 20 from the field. The Trojans hit 2 of 3 from the line.
