Rep. Judy Clark is state senate candidate Rep. Judy Clark Rep. Judy Clark announced that she is a candidate for the District 17 State Senate. District 17 is made up of Clay County and most of Turner County.
Clark has served four years on the House Appropriations Committee and gained an in-depth knowledge of state government and budgets.
"There's no doubt that Rep. Clark's knowledge and initiative resulted in budget changes, such as increased funding for adjustment training centers and senior nutrition funding, that made a difference to her constituents," said Appropriations Committee Chair Mitch Richter.
Clark has used her expertise to help local government access state grants and services. These include finding start-up funding for the Lewis and Clark Learning Center at W.H. Clark has also been a leader in community endeavors including founding Vermillion Beautiful, Inc. for city beautification, for which she was awarded the Sertoma Service to Mankind Award.
"If elected to the Senate, I will have the full four terms under term limits to continue to build expertise and gain committee seniority," she said. "I'll use that to work for education funding at both K-12 and university levels."
Clark and her husband, Dean, have four children and live in Vermillion.
