USD fraternity receives honors The University of South Dakota fraternity chapter of Delta Gamma received multiple awards recently at the Western Plains Divisional Conference in Dallas/Fort Worth, TX. The chapter received accolades for exceeding the all-men's grade point average and exceeding recruitment goals. They were also honored for excellence in ritual education programming and presented with the Court of Honor award,
signifying the Delta Gamma chapter as being in the top 20 percent of more than 160 chapters in the United States and Canada.
This is the sixth consecutive
year the USD Delta Gamma chapter has received this award.
"It is a great honor to receive these awards," said Delta Tau Delta president and junior liberal studies major, Joe Holt. "The chapter has seen a lot of improvement since I joined as a freshman, and honors like this
reinforce our commitment to excellence."
Dr. Michael Card, Delta Gamma advisor and USD School of Business professor, was also recognized for excellent leadership as chapter advisor. Card has been the chapter advisor for 12 years.
"Dr. Card has been a great leader to the members, and his support and guidance are always appreciated by the members of the chapter," Holt said.
