Blooms and Bricks project complete The Vermillion Public Library Foundation Inc. Blooms and Bricks Project is complete. The project resulted in a beautiful downtown minipark on the north side of the public library building. The minipark is in honor of General Lloyd R. Moses, who before his death was a charter member of the Foundation, a long-time advocate of libraries in general and the Vermillion Public Library in particular. The minipark features benches, a table, lighting, several flowering plants, shrubs, crabapple tree and a brick wall. In addition the minipark also features gold flame spiraea, pygmy barberry, miniature roses and a hawthorne tree.
The attractive minipark completes the library renovation which began with updating the library interior in 1999. In the summer of 2001, parking spaces, a more convenient bookdrop location for drivers, improved lighting and safety features were added. To all who contributed to the fund raiser that made this project possible the Foundation wishes to thank you for your support.
The public is invited to the dedication of General Lloyd R. Moses Minipark on Sunday, April 21 at 1:30 p.m. The dedication is being held on the grounds of the minipark, in case of inclement weather the dedication will be held inside the Vermillion Public Library. Refreshments will be served following the dedication.
