Simons wins Polaris ATV Betsy Simons of rural Vermillion is the winner of the Polaris all terrain vehicle that was donated to United Way of Vermillion as a fund raiser project. Local radio personality Joe Van Goor pulled the winning ticket from the $6,012 worth of tickets sold for the raffle.
In an effort to increase their already generous support of United Way of Vermillion and its agencies and to help United Way reach its 2002 goals of $78,000, Polaris Industries of Vermillion donated a Polaris all terrain vehicle to United Way to use for this fund raiser. The members of the United Way Board of Directors, the United Way 2002 member agencies, and the employees of Polaris sold raffle tickets beginning on New Year's Eve through Easter Sunday. The United Way Board of Directors gathered at noon on Monday, April 1, to conduct the drawing for the ATV at the KVHT studio in Vermillion. The name of the winner of the ATV was announced on air and she was notified by phone following the drawing.
