Students chosen to attend Boys State

Students chosen to attend Boys State Vermillion High School's delegates to the American Legion Boys State, scheduled May 27-June 1 at Northern State University in Aberdeen, have been selected.

The delegates and their sponsors are: Dan Holoch (Vermillion Masonic Lodge), Nick Olson (Vermillion Eagles Club), Jimmy Taylor (Vermillion Rotary Club), Tom Dendinger (Vermillion Lions Club) and Wilber Lio (Civic Council).

The two alternates are Anish Pa�tel and Jon Brooks.

Boys State is among the most respected and selective educational programs of government instruction for high school students.

It is a participatory program where each participant becomes a part of the operation of

his local, county and state government.

At American Legion Boys State, participants are exposed to the rights and privileges, the duties and the responsibilities of a franchised citizen. The training is objective and practical with city, county and state governments operated by the students elected to the various offices.
