Tanager track team places first in VHS Booster Club Invitational by Jim Prosser The Tanager girls� track team scored 146 points to win the VHS Booster Club Invitational last Saturday, April 6. The other schools places and point totals were: second � Lennox (121); third � Dakota Valley (89.5); fourth � West Central (85); fifth � Harrisburg (82.5); sixth � Tri Valley (21); seventh � Alcester/Hudson (9).
VHS scorers in field events were: Annie Carlson, Nicole Pederson and Sarah Christopherson, who placed second, fourth and fifth respectively in the long jump and second, third and fifth respectively in the triple jump;
Meggie Donnelly and Kat Redlin, who were third and fifth respectively in the long jump; and Lindsay Dunkeson, who placed second in the 100M hurdles as Brooke Johnson and Carly Bernard finished third and fourth.
In the 300M hurdles, the threesome of Johnson, Brittney Weydert, and Lindsay Dunkeson finished first, second and third.
Nicki Nelson finished third, and Crystal Coakley placed sixth in the 100M dash. The same two girls also placed third and sixth in the 200M, and Morgan Brooks and Heather Heine placed fourth and sixth in the 400M dash.
In the 800M run, Brittney Gilkyson came in first with a 2:38.9 time.
Megan Griffith placed fifth in the 1600M run and Nikki Mollet was fifth in the 3200M.
In the relays, third place was scored in the 4x100M by Johnson, Kate Miskimins, Lindsay Dunkeson, and Carly Bernard. The 4x200M relay team of Nelson, Coakley, Carlson, and Pederson finished first. Brooks, Heine, Kayla Mollet and Gilkyson finished fourth in the 4X400M relay, and the 4X800M relay team of Brooks, Kayla Mollet, Nicki Mollet and Gilkyson placed second.
The medley team of Nelson, Donnelly, Penny Decker, and Kati Dehner placed third.
There were seven schools represented at the meet.
