The Bluffs Bulletin Board Men's League
On May 9, the first activity for the league teams will be a "team scramble" with a "winner take all" prize for the best team score.
Regular league competition begins on May 16 with a 3 p.m. shotgun start using all tee boxes on the front 9. The summer season will run every Thursday, through Aug. 15, and then there will be a final elimination tournament, involving all teams until a final champion is determined some time in September.
There will be a short hiatus in mid season as the July 4 and July 11 (pro-am practice) when the course is not available for league use.
Team captains and/or sponsors should turn in a roster of their team, name of team, and league dues to the Pro Shop crew as soon as possible.
A new scoring system will be used during the 2002 season. Match is worth two points, medal is worth two points, and each hole won is worth one point, and one point is added to the best medal total for both rounds each week for a total of 23 points.

Senior Mens' Fun Golf League
Thirty-five seniors made the move to morning golf with the front nine as the challenge on April 23. The range of scores this week was from 38-42 on this windy day but the seniors played well.
Lowest score of 38 was recorded by only one team Sid Davis, Dick Munkvold, and Fritz Bartels; so they were true champions. Other prize winners were: at 39, Jack Stewart, Tom Walker, Joe Conroy, and Berwyn Svoboda; Loren Carlson, Louie Fostvedt, and Bill Rasmussen; Ted VanBruggen, Stan Munger, and Duncan McGregor; and Ken Beringer, Quentin Oleson, and Howard Connors. Also, at 40 Pete Berglund, Bob Landon, and Ray Lynn. Three other teams scored 40 but the tie breaker system eliminated them from consideration.
Three birdies were recorded by teams of Baer and Davis on #5, and Beringer on #9. The shot-of-the-day was credited to Howard Connors for a 33-foot par putt on #3.
The 9:30 a.m. start worked well and the regular shotgun start was fine. Next week our schedule will be the same coffee and donuts at 8:30 a.m. with golf at 9:30 a.m. and a fine meal to follow at about noon. We expect good crowds each Tuesday plan to join us!
