Senior men's fun golf league

The back nine, with a strong south wind, took the Seniors' best efforts on April 16, and the low score of 38 matched the best score last week. The range of scores this week was from 38 to 44. The seniors had four birdies during the round, to brag about. Twentyseven senior golfers braved the wind to enjoy good food thanks Rusty! good conversation, and a fine golf course.

Lowest score of 38 was recorded by three teams Ross Johnson, Bob Lund, and Berwyn Svoboda; Vern Holter, Jim Reed, and Sid Davis; and a four-man team, Max Anderson, Howard Connors, Quentin Oleson and Don Baer.

Other scores were, at 40 Pete Berglund, Dick Munkvold, Jack Stewart and Cal Peterson; and at 41 Shorty Hanson, Jim Grabowski and Louie Fostvedt.

Next Tuesday, April 23, the time frame changes with coffee and donuts and registration at 8:30 a.m. and golf at 9: 30 a.m. featuring a shotgun start, followed by lunch at about noon, and then open golf (make your own tee times).

DON'T FORGET 8:30 a.m. registration, 9:30 a.m. golf! Please register as soon as you can it will aid the persons assigning team members for the scramble.

Men's League organizational meeting report

On Thursday, April 11, the 2002 mens' league met and elected officers for the upcoming season. The president is Jeff Hammerstrom; vice president is Harlan Schott and secretary-treasurer is Harland Durkin. Some scoring rules were discussed and a couple changes were approved. The weekly scoring will be the same as last year (11 points per match) but in addition, a point will be given to the team with the best medal score for both rounds.

Also, in the finals tournaments, any tie scores will have to be played off by a selected member from each team. There were 32 teams in the league last year. If you intend to have a team this year please let the pro shop staff or league officers know soon. TEAM CAPTAINS please get the team roster to Rusty or 'Pross' ASAP. League play commences with a team scramble tourney on May 9 and regular competition will start on May 16.
