USD Head Start receives grant funds

USD Head Start receives grant funds Congressman John Thune announced March 27 that The University of South Dakota will receive a Department of Health and Human Services Head Start grant in the amount of $1,135,821.

The Head Start program delivers comprehensive and high quality services that foster healthy development in low-income children. Head Start programs provide a range of individualized services in education and early childhood development such as medical, dental, mental health, nutrition and parent involvement.

In addition, the entire range of Head Start services is responsive to each child's and family's developmental, ethnic, cultural, and linguistic heritage and experience.
