Vermillion boys claim third in VHS Booster Club Earlybird Invitational by Jim Prosser The Lennox Orioles felt right at home by scoring 140 points to take first place in the VHS Booster Club Earlybird Invitational April 6. Other team places were: second � West Central, third � Vermillion, fourth � Dakota Valley Central, fifth � Tri Valley, sixth � Harrisburg, and seventh � Alcester/Hudson.
Field event results for Vermillion are: Discus � Ray O�Connor, fifth. Shot put � O�Connor, third, Kellen Cusick, sixth. Long jump � Cusick, sixth.
110M hurdles � Chris Teigen and Mike Buckanaga, fifth and sixth respectively; 300M hurdles � Buckanaga, third.
B.J. Campbell tied for fourth in the 100M dash and B.J. Reynolds was fourth in the 200M dash. Oliver Hope placed fourth in the 400M dash Tyler Brown and Mitch Bierle were fifth and sixth in the 800M while Eric Dehner finished first and Mitch Bierle fourth in the 1600M.
Dehner also won the 3200M with Craig Powell and A.J. Manning coming in third and fifth.
In the relays, the 4x200M team of Campbell, Reynolds, Hope, and Buckanaga had a first place finish with a time of 1:39.9.
The 4x800M team of Dehner, Brown, Powell, and Chad Teigen also placed first with a time of 9:05.2
The Tanager team of Hope, Reynolds, Chad Teigen and Brown came in fourth in the 1600M relay.
