VHS boys compete at Lennox Invitational

VHS boys compete at Lennox Invitational by Jim Prosser The Tanager boys' track team placed fifth among eight schools represented at the Lennox Invitational on Friday, April 12.

Final standings were: first � Lennox (144), second � West Central (133), third � Madison (115), fourth � Canton (88), fifth � Vermillion (72), sixth � Tri Valley (56); seventh � Howard (50), eighth � Harrisburg (34).

Field events results for Vermillion were as follows: Discus � Ray O'Connor, third. Quincy Christie placed second in the 100M dash in 11.17 seconds which qualified him for state. In the 200M dash, B.J. Campbell and B.J. Reynolds finished seventh and eighth. In the 400M dash, Reynolds placed fifth, and Caleb Berry was eighth. Mike Buckanaga placed third in the 300M hurdles.

In the distance runs, Chad Teigen finished in the 800M, and in the 1600M, Justin

Manning placed second. Craig

Powell finished fourth in the 3200M.

In the 4x200M relay, the team of Quincy Christie,

Kellen Cusick, Oliver Hope and Bart Miller placed third. The 4x400M relay team of Cusick, Christie, Eric Dehner, and Bart Miller placed second. The medley team of Christie, Hope, Cusick, and Dehner won first with a meet record of 3:44.2 which also qualifies them for the state meet.
