VHS girls return from Lennox with third place By Jim Prosser There were eight schools represented at the Lennox Invitational Friday, April 12. The Tanager girls' track team scored 102 points to place third behind "Big 8" conference foes Madison and Lennox.
Vermillion scorers in field events were: Nicole Pederson second place, long jump (16'3" qualifying her for state). In the triple jump she placed second. Sarah Christopherson placed eighth in the triple jump.
Lindsay Dunkeson placed third in the 100M hurdles, and Brooke Johnson was sixth. In the 300M hurdles, four Tanagers placed � Carly Bernard (third), Dunkeson (fourth), Johnson (sixth), and Brittany Weydert (seventh). Results in the dashes were: 100M � Nicki Nelson (third); 200M � Crystal Coakley (sixth) and Christopherson (seventh); 400M � Kayla Mollet (sixth).
In the long distance runs, 800M � Brittney Gilkyson placed third, Morgan Brooks (fourth), and Heather Heine (fifth); 1600M � Katie Dehner was fifth and Megan Griffith placed seventh; 3200 � Nikki Mollet (fourth) and Tara Dehner (eighth).
In the relays, fifth place was scored in the 4x100M with members Nicole Pederson, Nicki Nelson, Brooke Johnson and Crystal Coakley; the 4x200M relay team was third � Pederson, Nelson, Coakley, and Christopherson. The 4x400M relay team came in fifth place � Morgan Brooks, Kayla Nelson, Weydert, and Katie Dehner.
