VHS Jazz Department takes it to the top March 19

VHS Jazz Department takes it to the top March 19 Vermillion Standard Time, Rhythm in Red and VHS Jazz Choir were successful at the Coyote Jazz Festival held in Vermillion on Tuesday, March 19. Standard Time placed fourth out of 15 jazz bands. Ben Williams, alto sax, Ben McBride, trumpet, and Jon Hoadley, vibes, were awarded superior soloist awards.

Jazz Choir took first place in class 2A. Arthur Begley was named as an outstanding soloist. Rhythm in Red took second place in class 2A having the second top show choir score of the entire day. Rebecca Gehm, Zach Holoch, Alexis Lang, Heather Reeves and Amanda Aga received outstanding soloist awards.

Vermillion Standard Time, Rhythm in Red and VHS Jazz Choir were also extremely successful at the recently held Jazz Festival in Norfolk, NE. Standard Time placed third out of 13 competing jazz bands and took home all Division I ratings.

Ben Williams, Ben McBride, Jon Hoadley, and Lindsey Isaacson, drum set, were awarded superior soloist awards. Jazz Choir took home second place out of 12 competing choirs and received all Division I ratings. Arthur Begley and Heather Reeves were awarded superior soloists.

Rhythm in Red placed first out of 12 competing choirs and took home all Division I ratings. Jon Hoadley, Heather Reeves and Amanda Aga received superior soloist awards.
