VHS tops field at Madison by Jim Prosser The Tanager girls' golf team successfully cleared the first of four "tournament hurdles" as they topped the nine-team field at the 2002 Madison Invitational played at the Madison Country Club course on Thursday, April 18.
Team scores in order of final standings were: Vermillion � 380; Aberdeen Central � 383; Winner � 389; Watertown � 405; Madison � 407; Todd County � 425; West Central � 431; Lennox � 438; and Milbank � 438.
Allison Stewart was medalist with an 86 score. The other individual results were: Karrie Plate third, 88 and Ashley Bjorkman 11th, 98. Also contributing to the team total was Jackie Thomas � 108, and Dru Van Kley � 111.
