VMS girls host triangular by Jim Prosser The Yankton Middle School seventh- and eighth-grade girls dominated the triangular track meet held at Vermillion on Monday, April 15. BonHomme Middle School was the third team in the triangular. The final track teams scores were:
Seventh grade � Yankton � 76, BonHomme � 33, and Vermillion � 27
Eighth grade � Yankton � 76, Vermillion � 33, and BonHomme � 27.
The placers for the seventh- grade girls were: In field events; long jump, Ariel Hofman � first, 13'7"; Alicia McFarland � fourth. In the dashes: 100M, Annie Roche � second; 200M, Hofman � third; 400M, Liz Hunhoff � third, Jennifer Huber � fourth. 100M hurdles, Anika Sjolie � third, Kinsey Weydert � fourth. Distance runs: 800M, Katrina Gomboez � third.
The 4x100M relay team placed second with members Bethany Sand, McFarland, Anika Sjolie, and Josephine Kabambi and the 4×200 relay won first with Annie Roche, Kinsey Weydert, Kabambi, and Hofman.
The eighth-grade girls' scorers were: Field events: Shot
put � Michelle Olson � third, Amy Mart � fourth; long jump, Megan Epping � first 14'6.25" In the dashes: 100M, Epping � first 13.6; 200M, Amy Mollet � second; 400M, Kim Baker � second; 100M high hurdles, Michelle Olson � fourth; 800M run, Amanda Kuchta � first 2:37.6, Maggie Thorn � fourth.
The 4×100 relay team placed second � of Epping, Brittany Babb, Nancy Abbott, and Mollet and the 4×200 relay team
of Epping, Babb, Mollet, and Carrie Christensen was second.
