Check it Out at the Vermillion Public Library by Anne Marshall New Young Adult and Intermediate Fiction
Get ready for the Summer Reading program with two new series for young adult readers. Enjoy the Christy Miller books in paperback as the 14-year-old Wisconsin farm girl whirls through a summer trip to California in author Robin Jones Gunn's first book of this series, Summer Promise.
Gunn's second series introduces the reader to Sierra Jensen, who becomes friends with Christy on their trip to England and the European continent. Book number one for this set is titled Only You, Sierra. Check out both series of the Focus on the Family books recommended for ages 12 and up.
Look for two new series in the Intermediate Fiction section. The first, titled Wild at Heart: Vet Volunteers, is for younger readers, and is authored by Laurie Halse Anderson.
A second series of books for this age group is Heartland: Healing Horses, Healing Hearts, by Lauren Brooke. Heartland is a horse farm nestled in the hills of Virginia, but even more, it's a place where past scars can be healed. Join Amy Fleming and her sister on a journey into life.
Janette Oke is trying her hand with a younger crowd. If you have enjoyed her adult books, try this new series of reads for your Intermediate Reader in Janette Oke's Animal Friends collection.
